Empty Nest Winery is one of the wineries featured at the farmer’s market. This family-owned and operated winery is located in Waukon, IA and operated by Dave and Pam Kruger. They produce handcrafted wines from mainly locally grown, handpicked berries. Their wine is special because they ferment the whole berry rather than simply fermenting the juice. This gives their unfiltered wine more flavor and color. They welcome you to come to the winery and sample their handcrafted wines. They have a tasting room as well as an outdoor patio weather permitting. They also host private parties and offer Wine Club memberships with exclusive benefits. They offer mainly fruit wines being made from a large variety of berries and other fruits but they also offer limited editions, which usually last about a month. The current limited edition is White Lace, made with pineapple, kiwi, and peaches. As if it couldn’t get any better, they also offer summer wines, the perfect addition to any summer activity! This summer they are offering Rhubarb & Berries and Wild Blackcaps. They will be at the farmer’s market for the rest of the season so be sure to stop by and check out what they have to offer!
